Wine Weeks in Armenia 2022

Winemaking started in Armenia at least 6100 years ago and the country is now living the years of wine industry renaissance. The Wine Weeks in Armenia is an annual summer school program at the EVN Wine Academy that provides an outstanding opportunity to amateurs and young enthusiasts to immerse into the Historic World of Wine and learn wine tasting essentials. Alongside, participants learn viticulture and winemaking techniques, sensory analysis and food and wine pairing.

Learning and sharing your knowledge in Armenian wine is a lifetime experience!

What to Study

The Summer School program is composed of three academic classes of 2,5 hours each, held on throughout a one-week period.

  • The History of wine. New World vs Old World Wines. Introduction to Armenian Wine. Armenian indigenous grape varieties.
  • The terroir. Winemaking practices. Sparkling, white, red, rose, sweet and fortified winemaking.
  • The Art of Wine Tasting and sensory techniques. Food and wine pairing.

What to experience

The summer school program also includes 3-day trips along the main wine routes of Armenia, visiting leading Armenian wineries for unique wine tasting and dining experience!

TRIP 1 – SOUTH.  Tour to Vayots Dzor region and visiting the Areni-1 cave where the earliest known winery in the world has been unearthed. Winery tour and wine tasting experience at Old Bridge Winery and Momik Wines.

TRIP 2 – NORTH.  Tour to Aragatsotn region and visiting Armenia Wine Company and Van Ardi wineries.

TRIP 3 – WEST.  Tour to Armavir region and visiting Alluria Wines and TUSHPA Wines.

Upon Completion

This is a non-credited course. A Certificate of attendance from the EVN Wine Academy will be awarded upon successful completion of the Wine Weeks in Armenia summer school program.

11-20 July, 2022.

Program Fee

165,000 AMD. This fee covers all academic activities, entry fees to the wineries and vineyards, including wine tastings, transport for the 3 trips, and full administrative support from ICARE. Hurry up to register!


During the trip days, the cost of the wine and food pairing experience is included in the program fee.


Accommodation is not included in the program fee.
