ICARE was honored to host a group of 25 delegates consisting of students and alumni of the Geisenheim University, led by Prof. Dr. Jon Hamf. The alumni were mainly members of the BDO (Association of German Oenologists). Presentations by ICARE Director Dr. Vardan Urutyan, Senior Expert of GIZ Armenia. Aram Babayan and EVN instructors introduced to the German colleagues the Armenian wine history, the current developments in the industry, and the significant roles of EVN Wine Academy, the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, and the Armenian Young Winemakers Association in the recent positive development in winemaking and wine business in the country. Tasting of the best Armenian wines, including some brand new high-quality wines, conducted by EVN instructor, Artem Parseghian, created more business and friendly relationships between the present and future leaders of German and Armenian wine industry.
