Hagop’s success story as EVN Wine Academy’s graduate

It was by chance that I got into the wine business. In the summer of 2019, I took a wine business and winemaking course, and as a result, I was chosen to participate in the incubation phase, where I produced a small batch of wines under my own brand.

Our family owned a plot of land outside Yerevan, where we had long wanted to engage in agricultural activity. It was decided that we would grow grapes there. A few months later  we launched the Galar.

I had only received basic and brief knowledge and mastered some important techniques when I first entered the field of winemaking, but after starting wine production, I realized that there is still a lot to learn in order to organize production and activities in this field more efficiently and professionally. So, in 2020, I decided to enroll in the EVN Wine Academy, where I had the opportunity to fill the gaps in my knowledge. Each lecturer is eager to share their extensive local and international experiences with the students. This makes EVN a one-of-a-kind learning experience. What I liked best about EVN were the wine tastings and sensory evaluation classes, as well as the practical experience we gained through field trips and workshops The EVN Wine Academy assisted me in making new friends among both the professors and classmates.

I am very happy that I had the opportunity to acquire a large amount of knowledge in EVN on the way to my specialization in the field.
