166th EAAE Seminar: Sustainability in the Agri-Food Sector
30-31 August, 2018: Galway, Ireland

The seminar is organized jointly between the Teagasc (Agriculture and Food Development Authority, Ireland), National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) and the FLINT consortium.
The EAAE Seminar on ‘Sustainability in the Agri-Food Sector’ will provide an opportunity to present and discuss progress in the analysis of sustainability in agriculture and extension approaches to incentivize farmers to adopt sustainable farm management practices.
The event will take place in conjunction with the European Region of Gastronomy designation which was awarded to Galway for 2018, for which ‘sustainability’ and ‘feeding the planet’ are key themes.

ICSD 2018: 6th International Conference on Sustainable Development

European Center of Sustainable Development in collaboration with CIT University will organize the 6th ICSD 2018 Rome, Italy in the days: Wednesday 12 to Thursday 13 September, 2018. The conference will be an excellent opportunity to share your ideas and research findings relevant to the Sustainability Science, through the European network of academics Papers will be published in EJSD Journal (Thompson Reuters) and Proceedings.
The Conference theme is: “Creating a unified foundation for the Sustainable Development: research, practice and education”.
This ambition will proceed in a multidisciplinary way across the various fields and perspectives, through which we can address the fundamental and related questions of Sustainable Development. This interdisciplinary forum is for scholars, teachers, and practitioners from any professional discipline who share an interest in—and concern for— sustainability in an holistic perspective, where environmental, cultural, economic and social concerns intersect.

AEA 2018 Annual Meeting

The Armenian Economic Association 2018 annual meetings are hosted by the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies on June 15th and by the American University of Armenia on the 16th.
Scholars, researchers, and graduate students, are invited to present their research in all areas of economics and finance. Papers may address growth and development issues in Armenia and the South-Caucasus, integration with the Eurasian Union and the EU, regional trade patterns, trends in labor markets and migration, tax policy, income inequality, regulatory reforms, or other topic on current advances in economics and finance. Both theoretical and empirical works are welcome.

FAO-UNITAR online course on “Trade, Food Security and Nutrition”
Course Dates: 14 May to 15 June, 2018
Language: the online course will be delivered in Russian
Registration Status: Open
This course seeks to strengthen capacities in the post-soviet countries to develop and implement trade policies, taking into consideration their implications for food security and nutrition.
By the end of the course, participants will be better able to:
· Assess the challenges and opportunities posed by greater openness to trade for food security and nutrition;
· Evaluate different types of trade policy measures and their role in promoting food security, in order to design and implement coherent and evidence-based policies;
· Formulate agricultural trade policies and strategies, taking into consideration the international trade rules; and
· Analyze each of the above topics from the perspective of post-Soviet countries.
This course is offered free of charge as part of FAO’s the Regional Initiative on Agri-Food Trade and Market Integration in the Europe and Central Asia region. The course will be conducted in Russian language. Limited slots are available and will be subject to a selection process conducted by FAO, taking into account, in particular, the geographical distribution and gender balance. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
