REGISTER FOR A COURSE! WINE FUNDAMENTALS: LEVEL 1

SHORT SUMMARY 

This course is designed for those who love to learn and enjoy wine. Whether you want to make a more informed purchase next time you are in the wine aisle or you love the wine industry and want to start your formal education, this course is for you. It is aimed to provide you with the basic yet essential knowledge on what wine is all about, where your most favorite labels come from or how to navigate in the sea of the wine world; how it is made and how to properly drink and thus enjoy the richness of the flavors and experiences that it brings. 

 

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course is taught over 12 hours. It is divided into four, three hour long lectures usually conducted in the evening hours. Each lecture is divided into theory and practice sessions – after an informative presentation, followed by Q&A, the course presenter tests the theory in practice by tasting together with the students a variety of wines, discussed earlier. The course is followed by an hour long exam. All passing students will be awarded with an EVN Wine Academy’s Wine Fundamentals Level 1 Certificate. The language of instruction is English. 

LECTURES 

The course is divided into four lectures. At each lecture students will taste 8 varieties of wines: 
Lecture 1: Typologies of Wines/ March 6, Monday
Lecture 2: Understanding the Wine World/ March 9, Thursday
Lecture 3: Terroir/ March 13, Monday
Lecture 4: Wine Making, Tasting and Service/ March 16, Thursday
Exam: To Be Decided

 

DATES AND VENUE

The lectures will be conducted on Mondays and  Thursdays: March 6; 9; 13; and 16 from 18:30 pm to 21:30 pm, in a newly furnished Tasting Room which conforms international standards. Venue: ICARE Foundation, 74 Teryan Street, Yerevan.
