Project Completed: July 2018 – March 2019
Funding Organization:
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

The main objective of the project report is to analyze the whole value chain of the dairy sector, including feed and milk production, milk processing and dairy product production, and consumer preferences.
In-depth interviews with sector experts, in-depth interviews with 20 processors (small, medium, and large) and 400 standardized interviews with dairy consumers in 4 cities in Armenia (Yerevan, Vanadzor, Abovyan, and Gyumri) were conducted. In the scope of the project, the dairy value chain gaps were identified and possible investor roadmap was developed for the dairy sector. Besides, the milk production econometric model is developed for the estimation of the relationship between milk yield and different exogenous (independent) variables.
